Otra duda de novato total en esto, ¿qué es el pledge manager que mencionáis varios como mecanismo de pago? Sigo sin tener claro si una vez hecha tu pledge te puedes olvidar hasta que recibas el paquete mucho después, o si una vez acabado el kickstarter tienes que hacer algo más activamente para pagar. No hablo de adds on, supongamos que no quiero modificar mi pledge inicial.

En ese caso y tirando de experiencia sólo quedaría confirmar dirección de envío y los gastos del mismo.

Sí, tú ahora te apuntas y dices el nivel que quieres (barbarian o king). Haces todo el proceso y de momento te despreocupas. Una vez la campaña termine te pasarán el cobro. Y más adelante (meses después) te mandarán un correo que te remitirá a su página. Ése es el pledge manager, ahí tendrás que confirmar tus datos, si quieres añadir o no algún add-on y te pasarán el cobro de los gastos de envío, ya todo al detalle.
Al principio parece todo muy lioso, pero no te preocupes, es bastante intuitivo. Si te surgen preguntas, no dudes en consultar, que aquí hay ya veteranos

KS related questions :


- What is the KS' duration?
It started Jan 12th 10am PST / 1pm EST / 7pm CET thus will end on Feb 11th same time. Well, with a 5 min margin

- How many times can I pledge on my account (How many King / Barbarian boxes + SG can I get)?
As many times as needed. And for that, you just have to add a given sum to your pledge. Add $90 for an extra Barbarian, $135 for a King (Sadly, no more EB are available; so even if you got one (which you'll keep, of course), you'll need to pledge for a "regular" King amount)
Example : current pledge : EB ($125). I want an extra Barbarian? I have to change my pledge to $215. How do I do that? Well, read on, mate!

- How do I get those shiny add-ons or change the value of my pledge?
On top of the KS page, you'll see a "manage" cell in the "you're a backer" area (top right). Click on it, and in the green cell displaying your current pledge, add whatever sum is needed.
At the end of the KS, Monolith will send us all a pledge manager to detail what options we want / how we want our pledge to be divided to.

- I own an amazon.fr/de/es (...) account. Do I need to create a new one on Amazon.com?
Not at all! As long as your credit card is registered in any Amazon site, you're fine.

- Any additional info on shipping?
They will be calculated at the end of the KS. Monolith as given us this information on the main page :
Our first estimations for a Core Box indicate that shipping to the USA should cost $15, $30 for Australia and Hong Kong, between $10 and $15 for the EU and $50 for Singapore and South America.
Please bear in mind that these prices will vary depending on the quantity of additional material unlocked during the campaign as well as your choice of carrier.
However, since they have... reached an agreement with Asmodee for deliveries in North America and Europe as well as other carriers in the USA, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and China... we can hope costs will be kept as low as possible

- If my address changes by the end of the KS, what do I do?
No worries. Monolith will send the pledge manager at the end of the campaign, where such information can be given. Moreover, most companies tend to double check addresses before sending the goodies. Plus if needed, you can contact Monolith.

- I receive waaaaay too many e-mails related to this KS. Can I somehow unsubscribe?
Sure, you may. However, I strongly advise you NOT to do it. Monolith will send important messages (pledge manager and more) that are essential to proceed to the next steps of the release of the game. Doing so would cause trouble and delays. And we all hate when KS are delayed

- Jamie's comments aren't easy enough to track. Is there something to do to improve this?
Yep : find one of Jamie's comments (using Ctrl+F, for ex (might need to scroll down a bit to add more comments since people are pretty talkative ^^))
Click on his nickname. Rightclick on "comments", select "open in new tab" and now keep this tab opened (or bookmark it) for all of Jamie's comments, and just them.



Game components related questions :


- Is there a difference between the Stretch Goals (from here on, I'll use "SG" for that) I'll get from a Barbarian or King pledge?
No. You'll get ALL unlocked SG in both cases. However, King comes with some KS exclusives :
3 extra heroes and an ally, 1 leader / Monster (I'm unsure how he qualifies), 15 skeletons, 10 mummies (all with their sheets and ability tiles), 6 extra dice and 4 extra scenarios. Moreover, Jamie, CM on the KS, stated there would be even more shinies for King pledgers.

- There are already many unlocked SG. If I pledge now, will I only get the ones unlocked after my pledge, or do you have any better news?
All SG are unlocked for all pledgers, as long as you get a Barbarian or King box.
Yes, even if you pledge on the last day (but pledging earlier brings a better dynamic overall, unlocking more SG, bringing more people in, unlocking more SG (and so on...)) so why would you wait?).

- Will Red Sonja / Sonya appear in the KS?
Monolith will stick as much as possible to the Howardian version of Conan. Not Marvel's, not the novel of the red haired polish-ukrainian Lady that fought Ottomans in the 16th Century. So no, not happening.

- There are 25 counterbases mentioned as content in the box, but the images shows 30. How many of them will I get?
There is no official answer to that. HOWEVER, considering that the standard, non boss enemies unlocked as SG come by 5, I (Barlimann) ASSUME 25 is the correct number

- Do the "alternative sculpture" minis unveiled replace regular ones, or are they added to the others?
Added. With their own ability tiles, artwork, and specific roles in scenarios.
Example : 15 pirates from the Barb (or King) pledge, +5 alt pirates from the $185k unlocked SG = 20 total pirates to play with

- Will there be a French / German / Spanish /... version of the game? If so, will the whole game be translated? How do I get it?
For now, plans are Conan will be released in both English, and French. Rules and cards translations in more languages will happen. They will be available on the Monolith/Conan site at a later point. Unless plans are changed, of course.
To get one or the other version, you'll have to state that on the pledge manager.

- Will there be ability tiles with "this or that" unlocked mini?
Yes. All minis come with their own matching tiles

- What are the minis made of?
High quality, Hard PVC. To get a "feel" of what it means, check Dust Tactics, The Others, or Journey : Wrath of Demons

- Will the minis be painted / will I get an Add-on for this?
No. The detail level is too high, and that would mean forever-ish delays, unacceptable costs for a quality that would make people not too happy with the result. Especially minis painters.
Maybe can you try to get in touch with painters in this forum; some would probably do it, for a fee.

- Will there be as many skeletons IN the box as are displayed ON the box?
You'll get a whole bunch of those thanks to the KS, but not on retail. That's just kick ass art.

- Can I pay for an All-in Add-on / pledge?
So far, there isn't one. There's a possibility there'll never be one. It depends highly on the KS' success.

- But... who the heck is that Skuthus fellow? I've never read about any necromancer by that name in the Conan novels! So much for sticking to the myth, ha!
Well, lad, this is where having the (probably) most reknowed expert on the Conan Mythos in your team becomes an asset. Here is where Patrice Louinet's knowledge is at its best.

Who the heck is Skuthus, you ask... Well, no one is able to answer that answer from reading the books. Because he never appeared in any. Yet he exists. Let me explain :
Leo : Hi Patrice, I need a necromancer.

And This is how I came up with it. Skuthus is a name mentioned in the very first draft of "The hour of the Dragon". That name has never been seen before, because the only people aware of it are (in that order) Howard himself, Glenn Lord (former agent of Howard's heirs), and myself. Those are the only people who've had access to these texts.
When we tell you we want to stick to Howard's universe, that's not something we pretend. Many ideas have been reworked, refused or what not because of me, that's what I was hired for.
PS : Leo, about those pics....

- Okay, then what about Olgerd Vladislav? He holds his axe backwards! That's a mistake for sure!
To be fair, i thought so myself. Then Flugubluk (yeaaah, don't question his sanity because of his nick ) wrote :
It might seem odd, but he has it in perfect position for a perfect strike as he stands. The hand at the bottom part of the handle will turn it around to rotate the blade and add even more power and motion to the blow.
If he held it the "right" way, his movement would be clumsy and way less efficient.
Try it for yourself at home with a somewhat long stick (no, not with an actual axe, you loony), and you'll see for yourself. The lower hand (generally, left hand) will hold the "handle" from the back, twisting your wrist

Gameplay related questions :


- When will we see a PDF with the rules?
Monolith is putting the finishing touch on the english version. It should unveiled in very little time

- Will there be a solo mode?
Not an official one. Some fans are already working on their homemade version, and Monolith will have a dedicated section for similar things on their website, so they can be shared with others.

- Will there be any "Duel" scenarios (ie : one on one)?
Yes. There will be a few of those. What's more, you're completely free to play a 4 player scenario with one player as the overlord and the other playing all heroes. That may be less thematic, but you can choose to do that. Conan is two player friendly.

- How many scenarios will we get?
Officially, there are 8 scenarios in the rulebook, 4 from the extra double sided board and 4 more for those who pledged a King box. More will probably come with extra unlocked boards, and / or as a bonus.
Moreover, Monolith will publish more scenarios (even before the release) and allow fans to share their own on their website. Some might even get the much coveted "Patrice Louinet seal of approval", given time. There's a deal with Ravage US (and France) and other magazines for extra scenarios to be published in their pages.
So we have plenty of gaming session ahead of us.

- Will there be a campaign mode?
Monolith has been working on one for months. It is pretty safe to ASSUME we'll see it at some point of the campaign.

Me aterroriza el retraso. Casi preferiría un número más asequible de minis, pero que lo entregasen a tiempo, en lugar de que me den seis millones de figuras dentro de dos años y pico. Igual peco de pesimista y ya estoy dando por hecho que no van a ser capaces de gestionarlo, pero con las experiencias que he tenido, creo que va a ser lo más probable . Estaré más que encantado de comerme mis palabras si se da el caso, desde luego, pero uff, lo veo con cautela.

Yo también creo que vamos a tener retraso, octubre ni de coña, navidades... complicado. Ya van alargando los SG porque si no iba a ser una locura. A mi lo de que saquen diferentes versiones del mismo personaje no me termina de convencer aunque esta Belit es mi favorita. Supongo que como dicen en los comentarios todo se remedia poniéndole nombres diferentes a cada versión del personaje.

Lo que puede ser una locura es con la cantidad de backers que hay ya que empiecen a poner más addon, la recaudación puede subir como la espuma.

Estaría bien que metieran más SG de tableros de juego para aumentar la rejugabilidad.

Es impresionante, yo quiero un tablero asi jeje. Lo malo que o lo usa para otros juegos o lo tendrá un año esperando a las minis.

Esta Belit por lo menos en mi caso es la que tenia de siempre como icono, las otras no me terminaban de gustar. Lo malo que de momento el Conan que más me gusta es el del add on. Esperaré al último día a ver cuanto me permito gastarme de más.

Creo que si se lo curran con el reglamento lo mismo consiguen que la gente pueda crear sus propios escenarios a partir de historias de los cómics.

La pena es que sean demasiado puristas y no quieran meter a Red Sonya por no ser un personaje creado por Howard. ¿Alguna sugerencia de miniatura que se podría usar para meter el personaje en el juego? Estoy seguro que no tardarán tampoco en sacar alguien su ficha para jugar una vez esté el reglamento disponible.

Se la inventaron Roy Thomas y Barry Windsor-Smith, supongo que buscando nuevos personajes.
Pero yo he leído bastantes comentarios y sí pretenden ser muy puristas, hablan constantemente del Conan de Howard y no quieren nada que no haya salido en las novelas (porque les han pedido un Conan-Arnold y los protagonistas de la primera peli).
